I was out & about during the Bears game w/ the Texans last Sunday. It was the first time that I’ve listened to a Bears game on the radio for an extended period of time.
I was sickened by the amount of promotions that Radio 780 allows during the game broadcast.
In between every play there was some promotional spot that they were whoring.
“And that quarterback sack is bad news for the Texans offense”
“That may be bad news for Houston, but it’s good news when you shop for a Toyota at ….. 0% APR until January 5th”
“The Texans are set to punt and he gets off a booming punt and Hester calls a fair catch”
“Speaking of fair, if you want the fairest price on diamonds in the city visit…..with over 50 years of experience”
Has radio always been this horrid? Or is this just a sign of the economy sucking so bad that the Bears radio crew has to sell 85% of the 3 1/2 hour timeslot out to car dealers and jewelers?
